a team from New Life Church took some rice, sugar, and soap, and divided it into bags. 

Then there were some clothes added along with many other need items...

a team of volunteers packaged the gifts....

 we spent some time together in prayer for the people we were going to meet

then we crossed the street and entered the very large hospital

we went to each bed in a few wards, to pray with, encourage, and bless the patients....

the needs were great, and the appreciation was heartfelt! 

Matthew 25:36 I was naked and you gave me clothing. I was sick and you cared for me.....

Back in Kinshasa......

We have returned to our Kinshasa home and Church plant! This is the New Life Church worship team. They do such a great job of leading us in worship!

We are also blessed with dedicated leaders for the children. The kids love Sunday School & Church! 

They were dancing to the worship music......there kids got moves!! I tell you....

The climate has challenged our adaptive skills, but we are beginning to live again. LOL.

Thanks for praying as we support the work of New Life Church plant. They have organized a visit to the hospital across the street. Conditions unimaginable to the average North American. 

Our Church folk have gathered small things to bring....soap, sugar, tea....to name a few. A large group will be going in next week to give these out and pray for people.

On Sunday, a man came into the church, he said he had been in a serious car accident and thought he might not survive. He has had surgery, is wearing a large cast on his leg and has several bandages. 

He said he was sitting outside by the hospital when he heard the music. He got up on his crutches, and hobbled over to New Life. He was so happy to find a church!

He was praising God, and we with him!

Following the conference, we drove out to an area of the city that has never seen a white person, or so I am told. the level of poverty was new to me. I thought I had seen the worst, but......

There are probably even worse places, but it is hard to have those pictures in your mind!

Goma Pastor's Conference.......what an honour to stand in a room with these front-line heroes of the Gospel!

They say they were encouraged and strengthened by the Word of God during our tie together.

They face so much violence, danger, and poverty. God chose them for this position, they are so dedicated in spite of all the odds stacked against them!

Pray for them, there is nothing greater.

along the way, as I travel and preach, I make new friends, meet old friends, and get blessed time and again! These lovely ladies, on behalf of the women in our seminar, presented me with the material used as a uniform by the church women in the denomination (CEPAC). They tell me that when (not if) I return, I must wear it!

Goma

We are passing through Goma for a few days. As you can see, the city has a large looming volcano in the background.

Today is the first day of Pastor's Conference. We are expecting 80 pastors, and counting on God's presence with us in a special way!

These pastors are such dedicated, hard-working men, I am not worthy to stand before them.

Would you pray that the pastors will be encouraged, and strengthened?

My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me! (2 Corinthians 12:9)
