Well, this is it.....my last day in Congo this year!  What a wonderful visit it has been. The people were so very loving and we spent so many great times together. Pastor Raha & Mapendo have been extraordinary in caring for me, and keeping me out of trouble. Thankfully they are coming with me to Kigali in Rwanda, where we will spend the next week, until departure for me, on May 3rd. I am not sure what there is to see in Rwanda, but we will find out!
We had a very nice graduation this morning. Unfortunately, some of the grads were working and couldn’t be there. We took many pictures (yes, I was in them!.....but, I hope they will stay here!).....my camera died of shock and needs charging.
.............not my last day.........we must apply for a Rwandan visa one more time. Pray for success this time please. No change in return dates though, we are still on track with those arrangements. Hakuna shida (no problem), I will enjoy the extra time in  Congo.
It is now Friday, I have my visa, complete with official stamp. I will leave AGAIN on Monday, and I’m off to Amsterdam on Tuesday night.

  1. Doreen, I can't believe that you are going to be back in Canada in less than a week! Can't wait to see you, and hear all about your past 2 months.
    Blessings,
    Colleen

  2. Knowing that you were being the hands and feet of the Lord in a land most needing His words and comfort makes the sacrifices worthwhile. Those who wish to ignore the plight of the Congolese yet having the knowledge you will continue to share are to be most pitied. Beyond that, those turning from what you have done to reject your cause and efforts will surely be putting themselves in a most answerable state. The shame of it is that the latter are those from within the family of believers which speaks of a despicable condition of the present day church of North America. Heaven help us!
