70 orphaned children!

Bethsaida Church cares for all of them! This gathering was to provide food and non-food items for their needs. You can see Pastor Raha & Mapendo sitting in the middle. The children made a picture of them to say thanks. 

TBA also supports this group.

 

 

The dear lady who wears this shoe, lives down a steep hill in Bukavu. When it rains, the path is similar to trying to slither through peanut butter!

Pastor Raha took Eric to visit her home.

They brought back a report that the rain was also falling INSIDE her home!

Eric sent word to some supporters in Canada and raised enough funds to construct a roof! You cannot imagine how much this meant in her life!

Thank you to all who responded to this need. You have reached out in the name of Jesus, to a needy widow on the other side of the world, and relieved some of her suffering!

 TBA is one of the many organizations addressing hunger in Africa. It was our privilege and honour to send some money for these orphaned children to have nutritious meals. 

We are not alone in meeting their needs, ( that's why we are called TOGETHER Building Africa), but when these dear ones were in dire need, we were able to respond!

Thank you TBA supporters! May the 'God who sees' reward your faithfulness!

1 John 3:17 if someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion --- how can God's love be in that person?

WATER…..

 

Water is critical for human survival and development.

“Up to 80% of illnesses in the developing world are linked to inadequate water and sanitation.” 

- Canada International statistic

These children are responsible to search for water in the dry seasons. 

The search for water can keep them from attending school.

These ‘jerrycans’ hold about 30-40 pounds of water. 

After finding water, they need to carry it home again!

And yet, you see the smiles?  

In spite of hardship and heavy responsibilities, they keep their joy.

I have things to learn from their courage!

TUPENDE WAZEE

Means “to love our seniors”.

Growing old isn’t all that easy anywhere. But it is especially hard among the desperately poor.

These widows have experienced unspeakable hardships throughout their lives!  Years of war left many without spouses or family members and no one to care for them. 

Now in their senior years they remain very vulnerable.

TBA has a program to empower them, build community, educate in health & wellness, and feed them. 

In times when there is a need, there is a place of safety for overnight.

This is a video of their Christmas gifts…a warm comforter and some material to make a nice dress. They were overwhelmed!

Thank you, supporters, for giving the elderly a tangible reminder of God’s care for them when life is difficult.

we would like to thank all of you for following the activities of TBA. We appreciate your prayers more than we can say! When we stand together, we can become a force spreading the Great News of our loving Saviour, where we are and to the ends of the earth.
