Building Community.......

As you know, TBA has a chicken farm in an outlying village. This project is supported by our capable missionaries, Ron & Elaine Fehr.

This project has provided work for some of the unemployed youth in the village, as well as eggs for the residents.

Last weekend, here in Bukavu, we received word that a thief had broken into the farm and ran off with three chickens.

However, the community saw him creeping into the farm and called all the neighbours. They came running, about 20 of them along with the chief! They ran after the man, but he hid in the field next to the farm. When the chief called Hilary, he could hear many voices calling out "we will find you", "where did you go?", "what have you done?" , "where is he?"

Ultimately, the thief made good on his escape. However, the villagers and the chief retrieved the bag with the hens in it and returned them to "their farm"!

Love their sense of ownership!

Sunday we were bringing the message in 2 different churches!

What a great time to connect with everyone! I wish all of you could meet all of them!

It is dry season here. That means everything is this colour! These are actually green plants, under all of that dirt. Even the cars get covered daily. Ti is extremely difficult in the villages where they have little or no water!

4.5 hr layover

Amsterdam to Kigali = 8.? hrs

overnight in Kigali

up at 4:30 

driven to the DRC border 6++ hrs

and then..............

CONGO!!
