We face a humanity that is too precious to neglect. We know a remedy for the ills of the world too wonderful to withhold. We have a Christ too glorious to hide. We have an adventure that is too thrilling to miss.
~ Theodore Williams
God encourages us to respond to all people in need regardless of race, religion, or national origin.
Together Building Africa seeks to create change.
Our goal is to assist sexually victimized and destitute women and girls, and those with disabilities.
Congo has no factories to produce ready-made clothing.
UZIMA (Swahili for ‘LIFE’) SEWING CENTRE….will teach tailoring, an essential skill that will provide basic amenities and relief from absolute poverty.
We have purchased a few hand-turned and treadle sewing machines (power is unreliable).
At UZIMA SEWING CENTRE, they will be taught how to use the machines to cut and create garments.
After this training, they will apprentice for 2 months with an experienced tailor.
Upon completion of the training, we would like to see each student receive a sewing machine. Then we would send them out in groups of 4 to begin small businesses.
For some physically challenged individuals, this will provide them with dignity in the pursuit of basic amenities to live. It will also equip them with practical tools that will enable them to live up to their full potential.
Following a micro-finance model, the graduates will pay small sums back into the program for future students.
Dependence on external funding will be gradually reduced as the centre becomes more self-reliant.
“Why send the North American missionaries when nationals can do it?
The concern is that a narrow either/or attitude is more a plot than a plan –a plot to undermine and slow the work of world evangelism.
Our options are not: either support nationals OR send missionaries.
The task is so big we must do both.
The greatest missionary of all, Jesus Christ, left the comforts of Heaven to come to us, to walk among the filth and mire of humanity.
He did not send His angels to do His bidding He came in the flesh to reveal the message of God’s tender mercy.
Because He came for all, we must go to all."

“I thank the Lord for his servants that came here. When the servants of God came here I was sick. And I never came for the first conference they did. I stand here to say that God sent them to bring us the gospel. it is true that it was God who sent them.
When I was sleeping I had a vision and in that vision I could see that we were gathering with these servants of God. And when we were there in my dream, I saw that there was a group of soldiers and they were looking for them. I asked them "why are you looking for the servants of God?” And those military said that the gospel the servants were speaking was like the militia in their way.
And I saw how God was covering them. And I started praising God. And I could see that it's God who sent them. I thank God for all the work that they do in all this time that they were here. Everyone that was coming here received and I thank God!
And it's true that through their teaching God healed me!”
