A few days before our arrival, there was a terrible incident. An overloaded wooden boat like the one in the picture overturned and 150 people lost their lives!

Dear Friends, I have returned from a 4 day conference + crusade in the 'bush'. It was a wonderful experience in so many ways.
The attendees were almost half and half men & women.

We shared our hearts, celebrated the Truths of our Great God, and also enjoyed shared laughter!
Thanks to their patient teaching I now know 2 statements in Mashi! Here they are teaching me;
.......and now you see the pastors laughing at my newly acquired skill;

They were not laughing AT me, they were expressing great joy that someone would try to learn their language! (I was laughing just as much!)
At our open air crusade, we saw people come forward to make a life change and become followers of the King! That is always the highlight! That is why we are here. To spread the Good News of a great Saviour for all the world!
After the service, we were blessed by their gratitude. They gifted me with a locally made walking cane, and Both Raha & I were each given a large turkey!
This is a picture of the kitchen that fed us. We had prepared for 200. They actually fed more like 250! And did it very well!

Tupende Wazee (love our seniors)
This program has been amazing! The seniors who attend are needy and suffering. There are 2 meetings/week, and they never miss!
Many have severe mobility issues, but they make their way there twice a week.
Mapendo is in charge of the program. She was inspired by what she witnessed on her trip to Canada last year.
These seniors. love her, and she so clearly loves them also.
We rent a building near the church so that people outside the church would be free to come.
They are often fed, they have received warm blankets, and even a gift of material for Christmas.
One lady told everyone "I am telling my whole family that this is what I will be buried in.....nothing else, only this material!
(You see what it means to them?)
The rented building also offers 5 small rooms for anyone needing shelter.
We are praying for these suffering women......

There were 5 choirs, singing beautifully. The drums are amazing to me! It seems even the youngest can play.
This is the children's choir, I wish you could hear them!
our journey to church.....
this is the road leading to the church. When there has been heavy rain, we cannot drive here. We park down on the main road and walk in.
here is the view across from the church gate;
the entrance to the lovely church that God has blessed Bethsaida congregation with.
