Today;

Bags are packed, getting documents together to clear customs with donations, still no passport and visa, perhaps tomorrow?!
Thank you so much to all who made necklaces until you were 'beady-eyed' ....we ended up with about 150 or so! Impressive, I think! You are sending a strong message, of hope and encouragement,to people you have never met!

Update;

No matter how conscientious one tries to be, there is always a myriad of small things left to do at the last minute! For example picking up my D.R Congo visa on Friday, although I leave home on Sunday!
The suitcases have moved to the dining room table for the duration. (we have a large table!)
People have been so generous that I will be checking 4 bags!
A huge thank you to the Lion's Club for the used reading glasses..... all repaired and cleaned, they look quite new!
Stay tuned and I will let you know how many 'pearl' necklaces have been made. For those of you who don't know about these, it is part of the {purl} Project. The message is that a pearl is formed out of adversity and suffering and yet it has great value. Hence, women of the world who have suffered great adversity need to be reminded of their value as human beings! It is an exceptional gift sent from people here to women there, and carries the message that their suffering is recognized and people do care. Neat, huh?
